Robotics Program

A robotics program for children is a fun and hands-on way to introduce young minds to the world of technology. Children learn how to build and control robots while being introduced to basic programming, all through exciting challenges, teamwork, and play.

The Robotics program at STEMquest is a flexible, hands-on program where students build and code physical robots while exploring real-world concepts such as sensors, motors, and automation. Students can join at any time, making the program easy to get started with.

How does the Program Work?

Children engage in a structured, yet playful environment where they follow simple instructions to build robots using motors, sensors, and other components. They then bring these creations to life through coding and problem-solving.

Building and Designing Robots

  • Children begin by constructing robots using building bricks, motors, and sensors.

  • They follow guided steps, much like assembling a LEGO set, which helps develop their ability to follow instructions and understand structures.

Learning Through Fun Challenges

  • Each class presents a new challenge where children must design a robot to complete a task.

  • They begin with simple goals, such as making a robot move forward, turn, or stop.

  • As they progress, they tackle more advanced tasks like following paths, reacting to colors or objects, or completing simple games.

Hands-on and Interactive Learning

  • Some sessions focus entirely on building, while others are dedicated to programming.

  • Occasionally, children work on a combination of both, depending on their pace.

  • Children strengthen their understanding by practicing different types of builds and challenges.

Key Skills Developed

Through their robotics journey, children build valuable life and academic skills, including:

  • Problem-solving

  • Critical thinking

  • Understanding patterns and sequences

  • Teamwork and collaboration

  • Persistence and focus through trial and error

Robotics Junior (Ages 5–7)

Robotics Junior introduces younger children to the basics of building and programming robots. Using age-appropriate tools and guided challenges, children learn how to follow instructions, bring simple creations to life, and explore how sensors and motors work.

Through hands-on play, children develop early problem-solving skills, focus, and teamwork—while building confidence step by step. Every class balances fun and learning, making this the perfect entry point into the world of robotics.

Robotics Medior (Ages 8-14)

Robotics Medior is designed for children ready to tackle more complex builds and coding challenges. With greater independence, students experiment with advanced sensors, design creative solutions, and learn how to apply programming logic to real-world tasks.

This program encourages deeper critical thinking, resilience, and collaboration. Children gain the confidence to design, test, and improve their own robots while preparing for advanced STEM learning and even competitive robotics.
